The One Change That Worked: I swapped doomscrolling for reading comic books

“After a real life supervillain’s second election, I realised the insidious hold my phone had over my life. So I turned to something I’d loved in childhood to better occupy my attention…”

I’ll let you read the rest, over at The Guardian. Yes, that one.

I was honoured this week to make my debut in the newspaper’s print edition, where I got to share my love of comics and their calming effect on a doom-addled mind.

I’d previously written for The Guardian to espouse my love of Con Air, but this one connected in a way I really hadn’t expected, resulting in an influx of positivity, kind words and – best of all – enthusiasm for a medium I love.

Thank you to everyone who read, shared and reached out so far to say that it resonated in some kind of way. All very much appreciated – except for you, GB News.

And most of all, thank you to The Guardian for having me.
